Customized Design Packs Tight Curves in Slovakian Flat

Strolling through this apartment must seem like stepping into the future, a very stylish and streamlined one at that – the curved fixtures and metallic inserts that greet you on entering the lobby expand against the mirrors that reflect as well as blow up the surfaces and available space. Psychedelic patterns adorn the walls of the master bedroom and the study in this lovely Slovakian flat whose colors also serve to induce the mood we’d normally associate with every room – bright green, for instance, to prop up the old eyelids when it’s time to work, neutral chocolaty, creamy tones, and mauve, white and grey at bedtime. Recessed lights, sprinkled all over, as well as ingenious-looking ceiling lamps provide that extra bit of pzazz which really makes modern design pop nowadays.

Situated in the Slovakian capital, Bratislava, the apartment was swankily and chicly decorated by the people at Neopolis Studio, who couldn’t have been more thorough in applying their craft. Showing a knack for that tightrope walk between too much and not enough, they played with a limited color palette, and, careful not to visually crowd any of the rooms and connected areas, restricted it further still in some places which traditionally require serenity – the dining area and the bedroom. The only room where color is left (almost) to its own devices is the kids’, a retreat where the wood color softens to a paler cream nuance, and monkeys run amok on the palm-covered walls.
