The Dutch tuning geniuses at Novitec-Rosso took an already gorgeous Ferrari 458 Spider and, since they know their way with rides, managed to make it even better. They didn’t do much work on the engine – what can you add to a 4.5 liter V8 with 600 horsepower and 420 lb-ft in torque? However, they added carbon fiber fill skirts for an even sportier side look. The taillights are black lights, emphasized with black side markers and an auxiliary brake light which is actually a black LED light. They gave the car staggered tire/wheel combinations with diameters of 21 and 22 inches, as well as a pus button for the hydraulic system, which manages to raise and/or lower the car 40 millimeters for those trickier curbs and underground garage entrances.

We’re used to fashion designers collaborating with each other for exciting projects, but it’s quite awesome to have sculptor Tom Sachs jump on board with Nike the NIKECraft capsule. The sports shoe giant didn’t pick Sachs at random. They spotted his latest exhibition, titled Space Program: MARS and decided his take on outer space, form and functionality would perfectly befit their capsule concept. Nike’s latest collection perfectly blends functionality and high-tech materials, via its use of unique materials. Here are sneakers made of materials upcycled from automotive air bags, and adorned with special details such as a paracord which can also be used for a tourniquet, as well as zipper pulls that feature storage capsules. They’re probably fit for an astronaut, but we’d love to wear them, too!

You definitely need luxury and precision when your number one pastime is deep sea diving, say Jaeger LeCoultre with their latest Deep Sea Choronograph. The model was inspired by the historic Chronoflight and features an equally impressive number of sub-dials and totalizers. In addition, the Deep Sea auto Chronograph is also equipped with a double-disc chronograph operating indicator, which lets the user know what state the device is in. It has a 65-hour power reserve, meaning it can last quite a lot under water and it’s water resistant at a pressure of 10 bar, or approximately 100 meters underwater. If diving is your thing, then you know you can stay safe and accurately timed with the Jaeger LeCoultre piece.

The graphic arts are all about mixing disjointed elements, which is what French artist Julien Salaud did with his Grotte Stelaire installation for the recently renovated Palais de Tokyo in Paris. The artist created a light installation for the Triennale of Contemporary Art, open in the French capital until August 6^th. The precise, 3D mural inspired by primitive cave drawings is on display in the Alice Guy hall. The drawings, depicting deer, other animals and numerous intersecting lines, were done entirely in white string, which lights up into a celestial body of sorts, when illuminated via ultra-violet lighting. Salaud’s background as an anthropologist must have helped in putting together this project, too, as the installation adorns the vaulted ceiling of the hall. Watch a video with the artist below.

We don’t know how you feel about architecture in all-white, but we are simply smitten with the Cocoon Suites project from Athens-based design studio Klab Architecture. The project was commissioned for the interior design of the Andronikos Hotel on the Greek Island of Mykonos. The end result is spectacular, as curved white rooms replicate the island’s traditional architecture vernacular. There are irregular, slanted partitions, plenty of wall-mounted furniture, mirrors, bamboo cane panels and pebbled buried into the cement flooring, leading from one room to the next. The lighting shined from below the beds and desks, while the misaligned ceiling panels create an odd sense of serenity.

Luxury footwear brand Ronnie Fieg has recently announced the upcoming release of its dockside collection Sebago – and it’s men’s fashion at its best, we think. The iconic marine footwear item was reinterpreted for spring/summer 2012 in premium oiled nubuck, which comes in grey and olive colorways. All shoes are hand-sewn so as to form a single piece of form-fitting material, with comfort and durability the main points of interest. The rawhide laces, corrosive resistant eyelets and stitched boat soles with slip-resistant rubber ensure these shoes are pure dockside perfection. The first releases to be previewed in stores can be purchased for $100 at Kith NYC stores, as well as at the designer’s online store.

We love featuring cool new rides, so we naturally got excited to hear all about the details on the upcoming Audi A3, Ingolstadt’s new compact, to be released in the US in October 2013. The hatchback will hit European retailers in July. What’s new about this car? Loads of things, actually. First off, its engine has been completely revamped and is now cooler and stronger  - a four-cylinder 1.4-liter machine that is able to produce 121 horsepower. Overall, the car is lighter than its previous versions, since it’s set to drop an impressive 130 pounds at the very least – many of its front-end components will be made in aluminum. The tiny A3 will feature all the extra options now available for the larger A6, A7 and A8, including safety and convenience systems. We’re excited about the upcoming release – how about you?

You know we, here at the BeautifuList are huge Richard Mille fans, since we’ve featured his designs before. There was no way we could’ve missed out on the announced release of his Le Mans Classic. It’s the first since the initial edition, held in 2002, and will be backed by Richard Mille as main partner and official timekeeper. The world’s biggest vintage car event, to take place from July 6^th to 8^th, 2012, will also include the unveiling of the RM 008 LMC and the RM 011 LMC. The RM 008 will be ultra-limited edition, to be released in two pieces only. The two watch models will be encased in titanium and feature ultra-precise chronographs, as is only suitable for an automotive event.

In terms of interior design, there are so many things we like about the FJ House project, completed by Guilherme Torres in 2010, that we don’t even know where to start. The 1,453 square foot apartment in great post-industrial style, is located in Sao Paulo, which is also the design studio’s home-base. Its owner is a young, single businessman and DJ (watch out, ladies!), who was keen on living close to his office. The architects took over a typically 1980s apartment, removed all the room partitions and only kept the toilets and two bedrooms. The results is “a box in which the illumination plus wall and floor coverings would create a three-dimensional effect, like in a night club.” Illumination is a central theme in the design, as is upcycling – see, for instance the ‘DJ table’, which was initially an aluminum ladder. Clever, isn’t it?

Whenever a release goes big at the movies, the design world instantly jumps on the bandwagon of capitalizing that cultural momentum and acumen. That’s what art student Calvin Lin did right after the recent release of long-awaited superhero blockbuster The Avengers. He took the movie’s most prominent characters, added some other major planet-saving figures into the mix and came up with a series of alternative posters which solely rely on minimalist visual means and conceptualization. Spot Batman, The Hulk, Flash Gordon, Superman and, of course, Wonder Woman in the gallery below – and don’t forget to tell us if you think any particularly awesome superhero is missing!
