Lake Tahoe House Reinvents Contemporary Notion of Waterfront Palace

Opulence and architectural post-modernism must feel right at home within the Cliff House, designed by San Francisco-based studio Mark Dziewulski Architect. The home, also known as the ‘Lake House’ was a project of impressive proportions, taken up in June 2006 and completed nearly four years later, in February 2010. Its angular, glass-veneered exterior is beautifully complemented by the ultra-modern interior, wherein glass and sleek lines prevail. Its cumulated surface of nearly 9,000 square meters lacks none of the accoutrements that make for utter comfort: several fireplaces, marble, recessed lights, grandiose contemporary artwork, floor-to-ceiling picture windows and lounge areas.

The five level home can be further explored by taking the virtual tour here. It includes a glass stairwell and elevator tower. There is a garage on the fourth floor, as well as a guest suite, a living room, a kitchen with an enclosed terrace and a dining room on the third floor. The second floor hosts a spa-cum-gym, a laundry/storage room, a library, plus the master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. On ground level there are two guest rooms, to the left and right of the garden room, through which access is made. Obviously, the home’s location is not to be neglected either, since it stands on the shores of Lake Tahoe, in Incline Village, Crystal Bay, Nevada. It’s currently up for sale for a whopping $43 million.
