Reading the Writing on the Wall Furniture

What would you make of a catchphrase like “Read Your Bookcase” placed in full-view like a constant reminder on… well, your bookcase? What about a subliminal one, making furniture speak to you in a low but discernible whisper? At first, I couldn’t see the forest for the trees, or the writing for the shelves, in this original message-carrying wall unit – pore over it below to check your 20/20, and read on after the jump for a few words on the designer:

This piece of furniture acts like a pun of sorts, only the play is actually a much more subtle game, or interplay between words and shelves, which spells brilliance in my book. The Italian design firm Saporiti manufactures all kinds of furniture for both home and the office environment, in a unique – I’d go as far as saying concept-driven – way: it stems from a highly modern, at times abstract, outlook, while also keeping first and foremost in mind the items’ suitability for day-to-day use.
