The Glass-House Pull of the Vienna Way

Having at first glance little to do with the European name-drop, the Vienna Way Residence is a California-set structure that stands out due to the smooth design achieved by the Marmol Radziner architectural firm. Every piece of furniture looks built-in and somehow inherent to the interior design concept, which owes its coherence to a classy array of lines and angles, all interconnected while also bringing together the units of the house.

This Vienna Way is paved with wood insertions: from ceilings to floors, from cabinets – pieced together by their in-house cabinet-making team – to curvaceous chairs and a perfectly matched bookcase lining a sun-bathed wall. Alongside this warm, natural coloring, the nature outside, in all its texture and nuance, is easily peeked at through the glazing that envelops most of the house. The sash windows and glass doors are the main character in the story of this private residence, as they emphasize the ampleness of the space it covers as well as lend it fluidity.
